We are taking a look at another computer on a stick, this is our Review of the ASUS Chromebit.
First off, this is not to be confused with the Chromecast – this is running a full Chrome OS installation on it. This makes it pretty much a little computer that you can plug into your television or monitor as you please.
The price is just under $85 on amazon and you essentially have a computer that you can plug into your television. There is a single USB connection where you can plug in a wired keyboard, mouse, or an external storage device as you please. The ASUS Chromebit also comes with a HDMI connection that allows you to hook the device up to your favorite computer HDMI comparable monitor or TV. One of the best features about the ASUS Chromebit is that there is Bluetooth on the device so you can connect a wireless Bluetooth device like a keyboard and/or mouse.

The ASUS Chromebit has 2GB of ram and 16gb of storage. It runs on an ARM-based CPU from Rockchip that we have seen from a lot of Chrome OS and android devices lately. Which really does quite well compared to some of the more expensive Intel processors.
How does the ASUS Chromebit Perform?
The OS boots up extremely fast, the first time you boot the device up it will ask you for a Bluetooth keyboard or mouse. During our testing we found basic browsing of the web and 1080p youtube videos will run flawlessly.
We found this device will do very well as a basic web browsing device at a very low cost. Perfect for consumers that might not need a more demanding computer for photo editing or other demanding programs. Most email is handled through online services such as Gmail and movies stream perfect through Netflix / Amazon Prime.
